Botox, manufactured by Allergan, is the most well-known neurotoxin treatment and the first to receive FDA approval. As a trusted option in aesthetics for over 20 years, it remains the most popular choice for reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
Dysport, produced by Galderma, gained FDA approval in 2009. It’s known for delivering faster results, although its effects don’t last longer than other neurotoxins. Like Botox, Dysport uses type A botulinum toxin, but with a slightly different formulation that includes additional proteins. Xeomin, produced by Merz, is known for being a "purer" neurotoxin, making it a great alternative for individuals who may have sensitivities to Botox or Dysport. Despite its formulation differences, like all neurotoxins, Xeomin works by blocking nerve signals to muscles, reducing muscle activity and enhancing the appearance of the skin.
